You will now need to setup users. Before doing so, each user will need to have the required Phone Systems license (user with an E5 license has Phone Systems license already attached) attached as well as a phone number. You will need to either get/port phone numbers from the @voice portal. For more information relating to this, please refer to this article here.


Once a user has:-

  1. E1, E3 or E5 licence
  2. Phone System (on E1 and E3)
  3. A phone number

you can setup the user as per described by Microsoft here - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/direct-routing-enable-users



Please ensure that the phone number is entered in the correct format.


Example: 0299995555 should be entered as "+61299995555"
